Managing director Andrew Wickham awarded MBE for services to bus industry

We are very proud to announce our Managing Director, Andrew Wickham has been made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the King’s New Year’s Honours list.

He has been awarded his MBE for services to the bus industry. Andrew originally graduated from Aston University in 1987 with a BSc (Hons) in Transport Operation and Planning. He joined Brighton Borough Transport in 1986, whilst at university.

Later holding various roles across the country - including at London General Transport Services, and Plymouth Citybus - Andrew has been our managing director at Damory since 2011.

He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (FCILT).

Andrew has confidently led us through various challenges, including Covid. He has maintained strong relationships with local authorities and stakeholders to share in his vision to increase the appeal and popularity of bus travel.

He has said “I am delighted and humbled to have been recognised with an MBE - and am proud that my long career and dedication to the bus industry has been recognised in such a prestigious way,”

“Above all, my own success has been underpinned by the skill and perseverance of my colleagues - past and present. I would like to thank them for the support and dedication they have shown me over the course of my career.”
